Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib (Ambala)

Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is located near Dokhamba Chowk, Sabzi Mandi, Ambala City.
Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is associated with the ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. After the Guru was executed publicly in Delhi in 1675 on the orders of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, Bhai Jaita Ji carried his severed head to Anandpur Sahib while Bhai Lakhi Shah cremated the Guru’s body in Delhi.
On his way to Anandpur Sahib, Bhai Jaita Ji stopped at the house of a Sikh staying here for a night. The tree on which he hung the basket containing the Guru’s head came to be part of Gurdwara Satsangat Sahib, while the place where Bhai Jaita Ji spent the night is the site of Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib.

A small platform was raised by local devotees to mark the site. At present, work is going on for the construction of the Main Building of the Gurdwara.
